Drafted legislation would exempt craft breweries from new distribution law

State Representatives Janis Ringhand, D-Evansville, and Janet Bewley, D-Ashland, have drafted legislation that would exempt craft breweries from distribution legislation inserted into the state budget. The legislation creates a single state-controlled permit that combines the brewer’s permit and wholesale and retail licenses given out by municipalities and prohibits brewers from purchasing wholesale distributors, which helps craft brewers grow.
