New State Senator Jessica King took the oath of office Friday at Leach Amphitheater in Oshkosh. Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson presided over the ceremony. King will represent the 18th District after beating former Sen. Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac in a recall election in early August.
“I’m happy to take my position tomorrow and to add that extra voice to the Senate overall. I think it’s important that women are represented, and it’s nice for this to happen on Women Equality Day nationally, and that’s another extra benefit to having my oath of office today,” King said.
