The TAA is running a voter contact phone bank to speak with our own members about the candidates we've endorsed and ensuring that everyone has a plan to vote. Also, when we finish speaking with all of our members, we'll help contact members of other unions in conjunction with the AFL-CIO political program.

3:30 March from Cudahy High School down Somers to Packard, north to Layton, picket the Milwaukee County Republican office on Layton west of Packard, return east down Layton Ave, head south on Lake Drive and continue informational picketing in front of the Cudahy City hall from 4:30 to 5:00.

Bring a friend and a homemade sign if you want! There are some pre-made signs, but the creativity of individuals' unique signs are always impressive to see and read!

A program with speakers and music in Milwaukee’s City Hall rotunda at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, will mark Armistice Day, a day proclaimed to mark the end of World War I and to promote world peace, which has become Veterans Day.

Vera Roddy, a women’s veteran advocate, and Matt Rothschild, editor of The Progressive, are the featured speakers.

Stonewall Uprising, the 2010 documentary about the uprising that ignited the movement for LGBT civil rights, will screen for free Thursday, April 14, at 7pm at the UWM Union Theatre. Immediately following the screening, the panel discussion Who Needs Stonewall? will explore the relevance of the Stonewall riots to local LGBT histories, then and now.

The event is free and open to the public. The screening and panel discussion will be held in the UWM Union Theatre, 2nd level of the UWM Student Union, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd.

FDR must be spinning in his Hyde Park grave.

First the conservatives misquote him to mislead people into thinking he opposed public employees being unionized.

And now Scott Walker is going to steal his Fireside Chat to lie "directly to the people of Wisconsin" on Tuesday.

Let's hope the Democrats in the legislature have asked for time to respond to Walker, on Wisconsin Eye and any other station gullilble enough to carry his "chat."

He continues to pile whopper upon whopper and is unchallenged by the media.
