The extreme cuts to essential services proposed by Gov. Walker today will damage Wisconsin residents and communities for generations to come.

Not only are his massive cuts to education and vital services harmful to the state’s future, they place an unfair burden on Wisconsin’s nurses, teachers, first responders and other public service providers.

Restraining Order to open capitol. DOA says "It's already open"

his morning a temporary restraining order was issued to force the opening of the state capitol The capitol building has been under very restricted access rules since Monday morning, after most of the protesters left the building under threat of arrest (although the police never actualy arrested anyone). The idea here seems to be to allow protesters in the building, but in a very limited number, partly to keep the crowds under control for Gov. Walkers budget address at 4 PM today.

Citizens Respond to Budget Repair Bill

“I have never been politically motivated before, other than to vote,” wrote the man from Hixton. “I have never contacted a politician before because I never felt so threatened by a piece of legislation.”

The man asked that I do what I can to stop a “budget repair” bill that ignited a firestorm of protest across Wisconsin and the nation.

Report - Sen. Dale Schultz will not vote for budget repair bill

Reports are flying that Wisconsin District 17 senator Dale Schultz (R) Richland Center will not support Walker's budget repair bill. I've not seen any confirmation of this, but crowds still left protesting in the state capitol tonight cheered at the news.

If this is true I would like to thank Senator Schultz for saving us from this nightmare, and for being brave enough to do the right thing.

Scott Walker's office confirms that fake David Koch call was real

In his continuing attempt to prove that reality can be more surreal than fiction, Governor Walker's office has confirmed that the voice on the phone call from The Daily Beast's reporter yesterday was really Scott Walker.

Madison—Today Governor Walker’s spokesman, Cullen Werwie, Released the following statement:

The Governor takes many calls everyday. Throughout this call the Governor maintained his appreciation for and commitment to civil discourse. He continued to say that the budget repair bill is about the budget. The phone call shows that the Governor says the same thing in private as he does in public and the lengths that others will go to disrupt the civil debate Wisconsin is having.

Wow -- it's hard to believe than any sentient being would see much relationship between the phone call and Walker's statement to the press.

Scott Walker - Starting to sound like a broken record.

In Walker's press conference at 2:30 today he made his threats of layoff much more explicit, claiming that if the AWOL senators in Illinois do not return and pass the Budget Repair Bill by Friday, thousands of public workers will be laid off.

He had strong words for out-of-state, and particularly Washington people who are coming in for the protests, saying that he hopes they will "not interfere with the process".
